PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of sealing performance from occurring with opening of a hood portion. SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a waterproof connector is provided with: a male connector 10 having a hood portion 12; a female connector 30 capable of engaging with the male connector 10; a main body portion 32 that is provided in the female connector 30 and held inside the hood portion 12 as the male and female connectors 10 and 30 engage with each other; an engagement cylinder portion 33 that is provided so as to cover the outer periphery of the main body 32 with a holding space S formed between the engagement cylinder portion 33 and the outer periphery of the main body 32 in which the hood portion 12 can be held; and a rubber ring 80 that is fitted to the outer periphery of the main body 32 such that the rubber ring 80 comes in close contact with both the inner periphery of the hood portion 12 and the outer periphery of the main body 32 when the hood portion 12 is held in the holding space S. The waterproof connector is further provided with an opening control portion 47 located in the approach passage of the hood portion 12 to come in contact with the hood portion 12 to regulate the opening of the hood portion 12 against the elastic spring force of the rubber ring 80.
