PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for starting fuel reformer capable of carrying out both of steam reforming reaction, and a partially oxidizing reforming reaction by which the temperature of the catalytic layer can be rapidly raised when starting the reaction, and the starting time is intended to be reduced under a condition in which the temperature does not exceed the heat-resistant temperature and the oxidation deterioration of the catalyst is not caused. SOLUTION: When a partial oxidation rate is defined by the rate of the partially oxidizing reforming reaction to the steam reforming reaction, the partial oxidation rate when starting the fuel reformer is regulated so as to be larger than the partial oxidation rate when carrying out the stable operation. For example, the partial oxidation rate when carrying out the stable operation is regulated so as to be 21-30%, and the partial oxidation rate when starting the fuel reformer is regulated so as to be 40-60%. The value of the partial oxidation rate from the starting time to the stable operation is controlled so as to be changed along a changing curve of the partial oxidation rate determined by the previous simulation carried out by considering the change of the temperature at the entrance of the catalytic layer. |
