PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent performance deterioration due to dislocation of an excitation level of an alkali metal atom.SOLUTION: An atomic oscillator 1 comprises: a detecting unit 13 for generating a detecting signal which changes according to an amount of light transmitting a sealing unit 12; a wavelength control unit 14 for generating a wavelength control signal which controls a wavelength of light so that an alkali metal atom maintains an excitation level on the basis of the detecting signal; a frequency control unit 15 for generating a frequency control signal which controls a frequency of light so that the alkali metal atom maintains CPT resonance on the basis of the detecting signal; a storage unit 16 for storing a target wavelength control signal corresponding to a target excitation level; a determining unit 17 for determining whether the current excitation level is a target excitation level on the basis of the comparison results between the current wavelength control signal and the target wavelength control signal; and a correcting unit 18 for correcting the current wavelength control signal so that the current excitation level becomes the target excitation level, on the basis of the comparison results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
