PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the installation area of an apparatus and to recover fine sludge efficiently. SOLUTION: An apparatus for separating sludge has a separation tank 4 for receiving a grinding liquid L containing sludge S, a non-magnetic metal plate 5 which is installed in the tank 4 and moves the sludge S to a surface, and a magnetic conveyer 6 which is installed on the back of the plate 5, sucks the sludge by magnetic sucking force on the surface of the plate 5 and moves the sludge S in the discharge direction. The apparatus has a magnetizing mechanism 14 for magnetizing the sludge S contained in the grinding liquid L above the plate 5. The mechanism 14 has an electromagnet 15 having an exciting coil 16 and a power source 17 connected to the coil 16. In the apparatus, the coil 16 is energized intermittently by the power source 17, the sludge S is magnetized by the electromagnet 15 and aggregated to be precipitated on the plate 5. |
