Disclosed is a security system using a mobile communication network that includes a camera for picking up an image of a designated area, a server connected to the camera and the network for converting the image received from the camera to a proper format and storing the converted image, and a portable personal communication device for operating a built-in web browser to access the server and downloading video signals from the server to check the image of the designated area; and a security method using a mobile communication network in which a camera picks up an image of a designated area to check security of the designated area.
