摘要 PURPOSE:To correctly detect the binocular parallax of a subject and a backgound by extracting the candidate of parallax quantity from a left and a right pictures by using two-dimensional Fourier transformation, and afterward, separating the subject and the background in the picture by outline extraction, end selecting parallax variation. CONSTITUTION:The phase terms 103, 104 of Fourier coefficient are shifted, and correlation is obtained by a shift matching circuit 13, and it is inverse- transformed again by a Fourier inverse transformation circuit 14. In the extraction circuit 15 for the candidate of the parallax variation, some of shift quantities to give a large peak among the inverse-transformed correlation values are made to be the candidates 105 of the parallax variation between the left and the right pictures. Next, the outline of the subject 5 in each of the left and the right pictures is extracted by outline extraction circuits 16, 17 respectively. Because correspondence with the candidate 105 of the variation obtained by using the two-dimensional Fourier transformation is established at several points inside and outside a boundary point, and binocular parallax variation corresponding to plural subjects is obtained, the binocular parallax quantity of a stereoscopic picture can be detected correctly.
