A compound of the formula: wherein R<1> is hydrogen, hydroxy or acyloxy, R<2> is hydrogen or acyl, R<3> is acyl, R<4> is hydrogen or acyl, R<5> is hydrogen or acyl, R<6> is hydrogen or acyl, and R<7> is hydrogen or acyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, processes for the preparation and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them as an active ingredient in association with a pharmaceutically acceptabel, substantially non-toxic carrier or excipient. The invention also comprises biologically pure cultures of the microorganisms Streptomyces sp. No. 89009 (FERM BP-2475) and Pseudomonas cepacia No. 97 (FERM BP-2945).
