MANUFACTURE OF VEHICLE AIR BAG AND VEHICLE AIR BAG

PURPOSE:To form an air bag by plane sewing into a square shape solid body in which each side of circumference in both obverse and reverse faces form a rectilinear shape at the time of inflation and unfolding. CONSTITUTION:A circumference of a pair of base material sheets 1a, 1b is sewn to form a hollow bag-shape and it is turned inside out. The base material sheet is fundamentally quadrilateral, and each side is formed with a protruding edge forming smooth curves from both ends to the center and extending outward. One side base material sheet 1b is an inflator fitting side, and a sheet face of the other side base material sheet 1a forms a restriction face of a human body. At the time of inflation and unfolding, a convex-shape protruding edge of each side compensates shape deformation of each side of circumference to form an air bag 6 into a rectangular solid wherein each side of circumference in obverse and reverse two faces forms a rectilinear shape.
