A motion transmitting remote control assembly (10) of the type for transmitting motion in a curved path by a flexible motion transmitting core element (20). A conduit (12) comprises an outer jacket (14), an inner sheath (16), and support wires (18) disposed therebetween. A flexible motion transmitting core element (20) is slidably disposed within the inner sheath (16). A conduit anchor device securely clamps opposing surfaces on the support wires (18) between an inner ferrule (26) and an outer ferrule (24) to anchor the conduit (12) against loads placed thereon. <IMAGE>
