PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive liquid crystal display device for a vehicle whose display quality is high by arranging a visual sense control plate on the back surface side of a transmission type liquid crystal panel and arranging a front surface protection plate on the front surface side of the liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The transmission type liquid crystal panel 10 is arranged on the instrument panel of a vehicle. The front surface protection plate 20 is superposed on the front surface of the panel 10. The visual sense control plate 40 is superposed on the back surface of the panel 10. A panel-like light source 30 is superposed on the panel 10 through the plate 40. By the plate 40, the range of the incident angle of light made incident on the panel 10 is controlled to be the range of the prescribed angle so that the light from the light source 30 is not made incident on the front wind shield of the vehicle through the panel 10.
