PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer capable of obtaining a high boosting ratio, even if the transformer is not a laminated type but a single-plate type, allowed to be easily designed because of a four-terminal type and capable of reducing a leakage current as compared with a conventional transformer. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric transformer, consisting of a rectangular plate shape and forming the primary side on one side and the secondary side on the other side, forms a notch 3 at approximately the center part of a secondary side 2 so as to divide the secondary side 2 into 1st and 2nd secondary side parts. Consequently, the capacity of the secondary side 2 is reduced as compared with that of the primary side 1, because the formation of the notch 3 and the polarizing directions of the 1st and 2nd secondary side parts are mutually reversed.
