PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium high in surface smoothness and excellent in electromagnetic transducing characteristic by containing a resin composition having a conductive resin and >=1 kinds of non-conductive resins in a weight ratio of a specific range in a magnetic layer and/or an intermediate layer between the supporting body and a magnetic layer and/or the back surface layer of the supporting body. SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium is formed by containing the resin composition, in which the conductive resin/one or more kinds of the non- conductive resin is 70/30 to 10/90 by weight ratio, in the magnetic layer and/or the intermediate layer between the supporting body and the magnetic layer and/or the back surface layer (the opposite side surface of a magnetic recording later) of the supporting body. The intermediate layer between the supporting body and the magnetic layer contains the conductive resin/one or more kinds of the non-conductive resin composition, the conductive resin is a polyaniline soluble in doping state exhibiting conductivity and the non-conductive resin is a polyester resin containing a metallic base of sulfonic acid or a polyamide resin or polyamide imide resin containing a flexible molecular chain component.
