POWER ON/OFF CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD

PURPOSE: A power on/off control apparatus and method is provided to protect an equipment by not supplying power for several seconds after turning off the power. CONSTITUTION: A power on/off control apparatus(14) is comprised of a counter(142), a delay processing part(144) and a relay(146). The counter(142) starts a counting operation according to on/off signals and outputs a count signal(COUNT). The delay processing part(144), based on the count signal(COUNT), outputs a time-out signal(TIME_OUT) of a low level if a preset time has not lapsed away yet and a time-out signal(TIME_OUT) of a high level if the preset time has lapsed away already. The time-out signals are inputted to the relay(146). The relay(146) carries out a switching to interrupt power in response to the low-level time-out signal and a switching to supply power in response to the high-level time-out signal.
