PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a new signal separation that can be applied even when a sound source having diffusion is included. SOLUTION: This method is introduced for automatically detecting and eliminating a frequency band wherein a diffusion signal source or a noise level is high and a target signal source is hard to separate by an ICA (Independent Component Analysis) as an undesired band. For this purpose, a cost function for evaluating independence between input signals is defined, a threshold is set in the cost function, a suppression constant is calculated in each frequency band by using the threshold, and the undesired band can thereby be automatically detected and eliminated.
