<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drainage performance from a gas diffusion layer by moving promptly generated water from the vicinity of a catalyst layer to the surface of the gas diffusion layer. <P>SOLUTION: A relatively large diameter gas diffusion hole h1 is formed and a drainage hole h2 with smaller diameter than it is formed in a gas diffusion layer 102c having hydrophilicity. By establishing the diameter ϕ2 of the drainage hole h2 to a degree as can generate a capillary pressure, the generated water can be sucked from the vicinity of the catalyst layer to the surface sf1 of the gas diffusion layer 102c and is discharged to the outside of the cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
