PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with proper visibility, and to provide a method and a program for image display, and to provide a recording medium with the image display program stored therein. SOLUTION: This image display device includes an outdoor daylight illuminance recognition part 151, which recognizes the outdoor daylight illuminance detected by an outdoor daylight sensor 32; an image acquisition part 153 which acquires image information; an outdoor daylight adaptation dimming part 152, which calculates an outdoor daylight adaptation brightness demand value La, regarding the luminescence brightness, corresponding to outdoor daylight illuminance; and an image adaptation dimming part 155, which calculates an image adaptation upper limit luminance ratio Kmax, based on the outdoor daylight adaptation luminance demand value La and a preset luminescence upper limit value Lmax and calculates the fixed dimming correction quantity G5 corresponding to the ratio Kmax.
