textile industry. SUBSTANCE: woven material has piles made from free ends of warp and weft threads having variable length, and/or variable cross section shape, and/or variable sizes of this section. Piles are arranged at random on different parts of initial woven fabric, with configuration and arrangement of these parts being determined by designer. Total area of mentioned parts of fabric is at least 0.1 of area of fabric. Method involves periodically inserting at least one piercing needle into initial woven fabric from at least one side of it, with following removal of needle from fabric. Such material may be used for manufacture of artistic articles serving as interior or store window decorative members, as well as for manufacture of articles of light industry, such as exclusive clothing.
