Disclosed is a method for producing acetylated cellulose ether. The disclosed method for producing acetylated cellulose ether includes a step of converting cellulose ether into acetylated cellulose ether in the presence of an acid catalyst. More specifically, provided is acetylated cellulose ether using an acid catalyst. Through the method of the present invention, acetylated cellulose ether with the desired weight-average molecular weight can be obtained.
