PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing method for driving an imaging element driving part during auto-focusing at a proper driving speed and to provide an automatic focusing device using the automatic focusing method and an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: An automatic focusing device 100 includes an imaging element 110, an imaging element driving part 111, an imaging element driving control part 112, a detection part 121, a focusing determination part 123, and a speed parameter calculation part 122. The focusing determination part 123 detects a focusing position on the basis of a contrast value. The speed parameter calculation part 122 calculates a speed parameter used for setting the driving speed of the imaging element driving part 111 on the basis of the contrast value. The imaging element driving control part 112 performs first driving control and second driving control for detecting the focusing position, during auto-focusing on the basis of the speed parameter. The imaging element driving control part 112 sets the driving speed of the imaging element driving part 111 under the second driving control, during the first driving control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
