REMEDIES FOR DIABETES

Remedies for diabetes or hyperlipemia, in particular, type II diabetes containing as the active ingredient neurotrophic factors such as BDNF (brainderived neurotrophic factor), ligands of trkB or trkC receptors, NGF, NT-3, NT4/5, CNTF, GDNF and HGF. Different from hypoglycemic agents for oral use conventionally employed mainly in treating type II diabetes, the above drugs have blood lipid regulating effects and lipopexia inhibitory effects, in addition to the blood sugar-controlling effects. Thus, each of these frugs is a novel one by which the risk factors in diabetes accompanied by hyperlipemia or obesity can be ameliorated as a single drug.
