A machine for the manufacture of a disposable face cloth comprises a raw material section, in which the raw material is a cylindrically moulded block of polyurethane foam, from which a band of material 5 is cut by a band knife 4. This material is led to the machine guide rollers 6, and thence to the machine winding section. In the coiling section, the required quantity of material is wound on to a cardboard tube 9. During winding the material is provided with tear perforations, the distance between the perforations corresponding to the length of the face cloths. When the required quantity of material has been wound, the ejection system 10 is activated and brings the wound material up through the packaging section, and thence on to the truncating section. A feed chute of a type in which, after the ejection of a wound cardboard tube, a new one for winding is automatically delivered, is arranged in connection with the winding section. In the truncating section the rolled material is shortened to consumer packs, the length of which corresponds to the width of the face cloth. <IMAGE>
