PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to configure a driving circuit of a small circuit scale and a low cost without necessity for a high withstand voltage transistor by supplying different operating voltages to each current compensating element. SOLUTION: By mutually inverting the waveforms of three levels of data voltages (a high potential voltage VDH, a middle potential voltage VDC, and a low potential voltage VDL) to be impressed on each selection line on the upper and lower half screens, a middle potential current (VDC current) becomes 0, and a high potential current (VCH current) and a low potential current (VDL current) are made to only each current value on the upper and lower half screens. To obtain this driving currents, the driving voltages supplied to the upper and lower half screens are inverted to each other by inverting the waveforms of the orthogonal functions to be supplied to scanning electrodes and data electrodes which are simultaneously selected on the upper and lower half screens, and when one half screen is charged, the other half screen discharges, and the power supplied from a power source becomes almost zero. As the result, the electric power to drive the liquid crystal panel is reduced, and the power consumption as a whole is reduced.
