发明名称 METHOD OF MANUFACTURING POLYARYLENE SULFIDE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide(PPS) having a high molecular weight and, at the same time, a large number of active sites and, as a result, have improved affinity with a silane coupling agent to excel in flexibility. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a polyarylene sulfide comprises a step I of using (a1) an alkali metal sulfide or (a2) an alkali metal hydrogensulfide and (a3) an alkali metal hydroxide at a molar ratio of (a3) to (a2) of <=1 and mixing it or them with N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) to form a mixed solution, subsequently a step II of effecting polymerization by adding (B) a polyhaloaromatic compound such as p-dichlorobenzene(DCB) dropwise to the mixed solution and then, a step III of adding the alkali metal hydroxide (a3) to the reaction system when or after the consumption ratio of component (B) of DCB has reached >=50% after completion of the dropwise addition of component (B).
