PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed controller and speed control method of a synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM), which can control the rotational speed of SynRM without a rotor position detector, by making use of the difference in reluctance of the rotor of the SynRM. SOLUTION: The speed controller of the SynRM 440 is structured with a rectifier 420 for rectifying an input AC power source AC to a DC power source DC, an inverter 430 for supplying the DC power source DC to the SynRM 440 by converting it to a three-phase AC power source, a detector 460 to generate an estimated angular velocity of the SynRM 440 by calculating the induced voltage and the estimated induced voltage, through detection of a current and a voltage supplied to the SynRM 440 and a controller 450 for controlling the speed of the SynRM 440 with the inverter 430, when the estimated angular speed and a speed command value inputted by a user are inputted. |
