摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that combustion stability is lowered at the time of enriching in an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: An air fuel ratio control system of an internal combustion engine is provided with a glow plug installed in a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine for heating by supplying power, an exhaust gas cleaning means installed in an exhaust system of the internal combustion engine, a judging means for judging whether a condition for lowering the excess air ratio of the exhaust flowing into the exhaust gas cleaning means is established; a power supply control means for starting power supply to the glow plug when the condition is established, and an exhaust gas control means for starting the lowering of the excess air ratio when a predetermined time elapses after power supply is started.
