摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To provide an optical pickup device which may be downsized and deals with two wavelengths without using combined prisms. CONSTITUTION: This optical pickup device 100 has a semiconductor laser element 50 which is a light emitting means integrated with a first light emitting source for emitting a first laser beam and a second light emitting source arranged in proximity to the first light emitting source to emit a second laser beam different in the wavelength from the wavelength of the first laser beam and an optical system comprising plural optical elements which form optical paths to guide the first and second laser beams to a recording medium and to lead the reflected beams reflected by the recording medium to a photodetector 70, i.e., a photodetecting means, and in which both of the first and second laser beams pass. The optical pickup device 100 is capable of reading the information in the recording medium varying in read wavelength. The photodetecting means is constituted to include nine division detecting parts 71 which are nine division detectors having nine photodetecting regions arrayed in three columns and three rows.</p>
