<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording capacity from being consumed without deterioration in picture quality of medical images relating to diagnosis nor increasing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A medical image DB 32d stores uncompressed original images 60 photographed by modality equipment and irreversibly compressed images 70 generated by irreversibly compressing the original images 60. In each original image 60, an inspection date 64b indicating the date of photography is recorded as metadata. The CPU of a data server, when storing a new original image 60, confirms recording capacity of the medical image DB 32d. When decided that the memory capacity is deficient, a CPU retrieves the oldest original image 60 from the medical DB 32d on the basis of the inspection date 64b and erases the retrieved original image 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
