The present invention provides a cooling device for a polar area ship which is applied to a ship traveling in a polar area and realizes introduction and discharge of sea water used for cooling down a main engine portion using natural convection, such that an economical interest is maximized by saving energy and simplifying a structure, and a cooling efficiency of sea water is maximized. The cooling device for a polar area ship comprises: a chamber (7) which is arranged on a portion of a ship (2) which is immersed in sea water, contains the sea water, and includes an inlet hole (5), through which the sea water is introduced, and an outlet hole (6) through which the sea water is discharged; and a heat exchanger (10) which is arranged in the chamber (7) in a space between the inlet hole (5) and the outlet hole (6), includes an introduction hole (8), through which refrigerant is introduced from a circulation tube (4) circulating to cool down a heat source of the ship, and an ejection hole (9), through which the refrigerant is ejected to the circulation tube (4), and enables a heat exchange between the sea water, which flows from the inlet hole (5) to the outlet hole (6), and the refrigerant. In the chamber (7), the outlet hole (6) is arranged at a position which is higher in a vertical direction than the inlet hole (5). In the heat exchanger (10), the ejection hole (9) is arranged at a position which is closer to the inlet hole (5) than the introduction hole (8). |
