The invention relates to a device for adjusting the grinding weight on a machine for grinding ophthalmic lenses of the type including a carriage mounted so that it can slide and oscillate on a shaft (101), and an arm (102) secured to the carriage bearing and sliding on a rail (108) parallel to the shaft (101), the arm (102) bearing on the rail (108) by means of an actuating member (110) of a sensor (112) mounted on the arm (102), a roller (111) being interposed between the rail (108) and the actuating member (110) and being mounted so that it can rotate on the latter (110), in accordance with the main Patent Application No. 88/15157.
