The device measures the blood sugar etc. by optical analysis of a test strip (12) containing a measurement field (14) for the fluid to be measured. The device has a strip holder (10) for the test strip (12). It also has a measuring lens (16), an analysis circuit (18) and a display unit (20). The measuring lens (16) has at least two scanning devices (22,24) for scanning at least two different measurement regions. The analysis circuit (18) may have a comparison device to compare the measurement values from the scanners. The display (20) is preferably actuated when, after a predetermined time, the difference of the measurement values for the two ranges exceeds a predetermined value. Each scanning unite preferably has a light transmitting/receiving device directed to the respective measurement region and simultaneously actuated.
