PRODUCTION OF POLYMER SYRUP, POLYMER SYRUP, AND CIVIL ENGINEERING AND BUILDING MATERIAL COMPOSITION USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recycle a waste acrylic resin molding into a polymer syrup by grinding the waste into a product having a specified or higher acrylic resin content and dissolving the product in a radically polymerizable monomer. SOLUTION: In order to heighten the purity of the product to 70 wt.% or higher, the product is introduced into a separation liquid, the settled impurities are removed, and the supernatant product is recovered. In order to improve the separation efficiency, it is desirable that the specific gravity of the separation liquid is 1.20-1.25 or the liquid contains a surfactant. The radically polymerizable monomer is exemplified by an alkyl (meth)acrylate or styrene. The mixing ratio of the product to the radically polymerizable monomer is desirably 5/95 to 40/60 by weight. It is desirable that the polymer syrup contains a (meth)acrylic polymer. By this constitution, the mechanical properties and durability of the cured product are improved.
