PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stacking property of a document to be discharged inexpensively by simple constitution, so as to impart stiffness to a thin document to be discharged without marking a streaklike scar on a thick document to be discharged. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a document separating and feeding part 12, a document carrying part 13, and a document inverting and discharging part 14. The said part 14 has a switching claw 31 for switching a carrying path R for documents P to one side of an inverting path r1 or a paper discharging path r2, and a stiffened rib 42 being turned by receiving, via a transmission spring, the transmission of the drive of a solenoid for turning the claw 31 at the time of switching to the path r2, to infiltrate the tip of a crest part 42a into the path R. Consequently only a thin document P out of the documents P, nipped by inversion driving and paper discharging driven rollers 26 and 27 to be discharged on a document tray 15, can be bent to impart stiffeness.
