<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for the expansion of a diame ter, where the diameter of an insulating tube can be expanded surely, even a diameter-expanding pipe having a small inside diameter can be press-fitted to its inside, and a pressure mechanism other than a hydraulic cylinder can be applied. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for the expansion of the diameter of the insulating tube, a fixed end A and a movable end B are provided, the movable end B is moved to the side of the fixed end A, and the diameter-expanding pipe 2 is press-fitted to the insulating tube 1. The fixed end A is provide with a support part 11, which supports one end of the insulating tube 1. The movable end is provided with a movable plate 14, which presses the end of the diameter- expanding pipe 2, a rocking plate 15a which is supported freely rockably with respect to the movable plate 14 and pressure mechanisms 15b which are attached to both ends of the rocking plate 15a. A central shaft 12, into and through which the insulating tube 1 and the diameter-expanding pipe 2 are inserted and passed, is provided from the fixed and A up to the movable end B.</p> |
