METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING ZOMBIE STATE OF DIRECTORY ENTRY

A method and a device for providing a zombie state of a directory entry are provided to prevent a race condition by displaying a directory entry state of a file as the zombie state when the currently used file is deleted in an FAT(File Allocation Table) compatible file system. An input part(210) receives a command signal from a user. A determiner(220) determines a type of the received command signal, and determines to use or delete the file based on the determined type of the received command signal. A file manager(240) manages the files according to the determined type of the received command signal. A setting part(230) sets up a directory entry state of the file based on use or deletion of the file. The directory entry state is one of an unused state, a used state, a deleted state, and a zombie state.
