<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing, installation, repairment and adjustment, disassembly and inspection, and replacement costs by reducing number of components of a gas generator as much as possible in a lightweight efficient engine and gas generator. <P>SOLUTION: A counter-rotatable fan turbine engine 10 includes a counter-rotatable fan section 112, a worm gas generator 100, and a low pressure turbine 120 to power the counter-rotatable fan section 112. The gas generator 100 has inner and outer bodies having offset inner and outer axes 16, 18 extending through first, second, and third sections 24, 26, 28 of a core assembly 15. At least one of the bodies is rotatable about its axis. The inner and outer bodies have intermeshed inner and outer helical blades wound about the inner and outer axes 16, 18 and extending radially outwardly and inwardly respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
