PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bissulfonium borate compound useful as a photopolymerization initiator having excellent performances such as high sensitivity, high resolution, high adhesivity, low plating bath staining and to provide a method for producing the bissulfonium borate useful as the photopolymerization initiator having excellent performances such as high sensitivity, high resolution, high adhesivity, low plating bath staining. SOLUTION: This bissulfonium borate compound is represented by general formula (I). The method for producing the bissulfonium borate compound of general formula (I) is characterized by reacting a diphenyl sulfoxide of general formula (IV) with a diphenyl sulfide of general formula (V) in the presence of an acid and then reacting the reaction product with an alkali metal salt of a borate of general formula (VI). |
