PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit to use a loaded process cartridge, in the case the number of reproduction times of the loaded process cartridge exceeds the prescribed one, to display the effect and to accomplish high quality copying. SOLUTION: When the process cartridge A is loaded on the main body device, the number of previously set usable times as a password number stored by a RAM 10 and the number of actually used times (number of reproducing times) are read by a control system B. Whether or not the number of used times is equal to the number of usable times is judged, and in the case the number is equal to or exceeding the number of usable times, the copying operation is inhibited, and also, the effect is displayed on the screen by a display part 34. In the case the number of used times is below the number of usable times, the copying operation is executed. In the case of detecting the absence of the remaining toner T by the main body controller 30 when the copying operation is repeated, the password number representing the number of the following using times is stored by the RAM 10, or, the number of the last used times (number of reproduction times) is rewritten so as to add one, then, the operation of a power mechanism 35 is inhibited. Besides, the display for pressing the user to replace the process cartridge A is displayed by the display part 34. |
