PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnet system in which short circuit conduction test can be carried out easily while shortening the time required for installing a short circuit, altering the control constants of a magnet power supply and recovering therefrom every time when a test is carried out. SOLUTION: The magnet system comprises a magnet power supply 5, and a water cooled magnet being excited with a DC current supplied from the magnet power supply 5 through a disconnector 8 to generate a field. A pair of connecting conductors 15 made of a conductive material is connected with a main circuit between the magnet power supply 5 and the disconnector 8, and a disconnector 17 constituting a short circuit 14 is provided between these connecting conductors. The magnet system further comprises a control constant circuit 9 for water cooled magnet having control characteristics corresponding to the resistance and reactance of a magnet body, and a control constant circuit 11 for short circuit having control characteristics corresponding to the resistance and reactance of the short circuit.
