PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cordierite having the reflection.scattering of light, which is kept low even in high purity, and -0.1×10-6-(+0.1×10-6)/ deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion at a temperature near a room temperature by solving the conventional problems that a sintered body exhibits white color particularly with the increase of the purity of cordierite to cause problems about the reflection.scattering of light and the coefficient of thermal expansion is generally not zero at a room temperature and the thermal deformation is not satisfied even through the thermal expansion is low. SOLUTION: The cordierite black color based dense sintered body has cordierite as a main crystal, contains at least one or more kinds of crystals except cordierite, in which one or more kinds of pigments exhibiting black color base is contained, and is controlled to have -0.1×10-6-(+0.1×10-6)/ deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion at room temperature and >=5×107 m2/S2 (Young's modulus/bulk density) obtained by dividing the Young's modulus by the bulk density. |
