PURPOSE: An air conditioner for vehicles is provided to actively control discharge air separation by detecting the ride of passengers on a second row inside a vehicle for automatically controlling the opening and closing of a console or B-pillar outlet. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle comprises a passenger ride detection unit(130), second row discharge unit, an actuator, and a control unit(120). The passenger ride detection unit detects the ride of a passenger on a second row inside a vehicle. The second row discharge unit discharges air to the second row by being separated from an air conditioner system. The actuator controls the flow rate of the discharged air into the vehicle. The control unit controls the driving of the actuator on the basis of the detection with respect to the passenger ride on the second row. [Reference numerals] (120) Control unit
