<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method having such excellent characteristics not found in animal cell immobilization techniques using conventional base materials that immobilization of all animal cells including those exhibiting no clinging tendency is possible in principle, cell function is not inhibited due to the electric charge on the surface of an immobilizing base material, the subject base material causes neither fracture nor rupture even under torsion or bending, and cell can be immobilized layer-fashion. SOLUTION: This method comprises a technique for immobilizing animal cells by using, as a base material, a fabric at least part or the whole of which is composed of superfine fibers each <=8μm in diameter.</p> |
