PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe dispensing with the electric wiring to a number of micro elements and never causing an increase in crosstalk or electric impedance. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic probe comprises an optical transmission path array containing a plurality of optical transmission paths having first end parts from which light is incident, and a plurality of ultrasonic detecting elements formed on the second end parts of the optical transmission paths to modulate the light incident through the respective optical transmission paths on the basis of an applied ultrasonic wave.
