Angular frequency omega0 is acquired from the slip frequency obtained in this manner and the detecting speed omega of an induction motor IM2, and trigonometric functions sinomega0t, cosomega0t are generated by a trigonometric-function generating section 14. Current commands ia', ib', ic are acquired as an output from a two phase/three phase conversion section 4 from the added output ioo' of the trogonometric functions, a torque current command it', the exciting current command and the output signal from the signal generator. An inverter 8 is controlled by the current command, and the IM 2 is vector-controlled.
