PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium realizing excellent dispersion properties and chemical stability of magnetic powders and having high electromagnetic transuding characteristics and excellent shelf properties. SOLUTION: In the coating type magnetic recording medium in which a magnetic layer is formed by applying a magnetic paint formed by mixing and dispersing the magnetic powder, resin and additives onto a substrate, the magnetic powder is a metal powder having carbon black adhered to the surface thereof and has 1-2 wt.% carbon black adhered quantity to the metal powder, 30-65 m2/g BET specific surface area and 20-120 mg/g myristic acid adsorption volume. |
