PURPOSE:To enhance the fixability to transfer paper and the release property from a fixing roller by providing polar groups in a binder resin contg. a tetrahydrofuran (THF) soluble component having a specific mol. wt. distribution. CONSTITUTION:The binder resin compsn. used for the toner of this invention contains 5 to 50% (based on the binder) THF insoluble component and has a peak in the region of 2,000 to 10,000mol.wt. in the GPC chromatogram of the THF soluble components exclusive of the above-mentioned component and has a peak or shoulder in the region of 15,000 to 100,000mol.wt. The above- mentioned binder resin has the polar groups consisting of a hydroxyl group, carboxyl group and amino group in the components having the peak in the region of 2,000 to 10,000mol.wt. in the GPC chromatogram of the THF soluble components. The toner suitable for a heat roll fixing system which does not involve coating of oil is obtd. by using such binder resin. |
