<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the pointing device which is small-sized, lightweight, and superior in portability and gives a real feeling of the movement of a cursor. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a magnet 2, plural magnetic sensors 4 which are arranged fixedly to the magnet 2 and detect the magnetic force of the magnet 2, a distance calculating means 6 which is connected to the outputs of the magnetic sensors 4 and calculates the distances between the magnet 2 and magnetic sensors 4, a position calculating means 8 which calculates the position of the magnet 2 in a movement range which is allowed for the movement of the magnet 2 among intersections of circles having their centers at the respective magnetic sensors 4 from the respective distances outputted from the distance calculating means 6, and a converting means 10 which converts the relative distances between the positions of the magnet 2 when the magnet 2 moves into the movement distances of the cursor on a display device.</p> |
