PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast signal receiver capable of unnecessitating the changing operation and the reserving operation of a channel by analyzing an electronic program table so as to judge a program that a viewer tries to view. SOLUTION: When a passing time from the starting time of a desired program to be viewed is longer than a first threshold, a controller 8 retrieves a program information record in a program table storage part 4 under a condition that the same name of programs is used and the starting time of the program is equal to or before the present time and the passing time is equal to or shorter than the first threshold, and allows a tuner device 1 to tune to a channel to which the retrieved program information record belongs. When the program information record is not found, the controller 8 retrieves the storage part 4 under a condition that the same names of programs are used and the starting time of the program is after the present time and a waiting time is equal to or shorter than a second threshold and at the time of finding it, the controller 8 allows a tuner device 1 to tune to a channel to which the program information record belongs. |
