A business improvement supporting system for designing a proper measure and analyzing data to improve the business and a method therefor. A measure designer defines the constituent elements of a business, the options to be selected of the constituent elements, the performance index of the business, and a relationship between the combination of the options and the performance index, and sets them in a measure database (107). The business improvement supporting system (100) collects knowledge of the set business and creates a measure having a high performance index. Each measure executor selects and executes a measure and inputs the results of the executions. The business improvement supporting system (100) sums the execution results and analyzes the correlation between the options that raises the performance index. As a result of the summation and the correlation analysis, information on the measure of high priority is stored as new knowledge.
