摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of allowing an actual value of an emission (such as NOx and PM) generation quantity to accurately follow a target value when an internal combustion engine is in a transition state. <P>SOLUTION: This device treats a plurality of engine control parameters having influence on the emission generation quantity by being divided into a plurality of classifications on a response speed. A formula for determining the parameter of the classification being an object, is determined with respective parameters with a parameter of a classification except for the classification being an object and the emission generation quantity as an argument, by solving an empirical formula for determining the emission generation quantity with respective parameters with the plurality of parameters as the argument. In the determined respective formulas, values respectively calculated by the respective formulas are set as a target value of the respective parameters, by using a target value as an argument value of the emission generation quantity, an actual value as an argument value of a parameter of a classification slower in the response speed than the classifications being an object, a steady adaptive value as the argument value of a parameter of a classification faster in the response speed than the classification being the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
