PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element capable of modulating optical characteristics for terahertz light.SOLUTION: An optical element includes a capacitor in which graphene patterns 2 and 4 are laminated sandwiching an insulator film 3 therebetween and a power source 11 capable of adjusting voltage applied between the opposing graphene patterns 2 and 4. The resonance frequency of the optical element is controlled by an applied voltage and optical characteristics (transmission, absorption, reflection characteristics) are controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
